North of Qatar (Sight Seeing)

The north trip will take you on a discovery of old Qatar. First stop will be the city of Umm Salal Mohammed (about 20 km from Doha), dominated by the ruins of a nineteenth century fortress. Inside the fort, you will find several examples of architectural and decorative elements.
Next stop will be a visit to Al Zubara, about 100 km northwest of Doha, which was the capital of Qatar until the late 19 century. This is an an important archeological site famous for its old fort. This fort-turned-museum (constructed 1938) is open for the public daily except on Fridays and Saturdays, and entrance is free.
Then you will proceed on to Al Ruwais to visit the picturesque harbour. Al Ruwais is an ideal getaway if you want to escape from the crowds of the city. The place is a perfect destination to come and spend long weekends with your close friends.
On the return trip, we come across Al Khor, the second biggest town famous for it抯 harbour. The beaches at Al Khor are some of the most beautiful tourist attractions that provide an ambience of relaxation and tranquility to visitors. The warm and pristine waters of the Gulf will make your outing all the more memorable.
